Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Highways Council (KPHC) sanctioned the construction of three new highways and two bypass roads, and the repair of 410-kilometre long roads, during a meeting presided by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.<\/p>\n
According to a news source, PKR 1,360 million has been allocated to the construction of the new highways, while the roads will be mended at a cost of PKR 1,565 million. At the meeting, it was also decided that two more highways will be brought under the control of KPHC.<\/p>\n
The chief minister inquired about the deadline for the cleanup operation against encroachments and urged that it be completed within six months.<\/p>\n
