Islamabad: In the wake of the October 26 earthquake that jolted many areas of the country, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to conduct an extensive review of existing building codes.<\/p>\n
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal told reporters that the authority will revisit building bylaws and also survey all high-rise buildings that pose risks.<\/p>\n
Afzal said that CDA officials have already inspected buildings in the Blue Area and Sectors F-10, F-11 and G-11. They also met with the management of the buildings to note their complaints. Some buildings examined had evident cracks, he stated.<\/p>\n
