Karachi: Member of National Assembly and prominent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif expressed his concern regarding the ban on gas connections for housing schemes and high-rise buildings on November 2. \u00a0He promised that the issue would be discussed in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, Sharif met with Association of Builders & Developers (ABAD) Chairman M Hanif Gohar and Senior Vice Chairman Mohammed Arif Jeewa to discuss the economic losses resulting from the ban on gas connections.<\/p>\n
According to Gohar, approximately 25,000 residential units worth more than PKR 200 billion are restricted from allocation to the public which puts a lot of pressure on ABAD. The ban was supposed to be levied for two years but has not been lifted for four years now. Thousands of people are being deprived of residential facilities.<\/p>\n
