Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will receive 645 kanals of land from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) for the LDA City residential project and, in return, give the board 30% of the 645 kanals in developed plots.<\/p>\n
According to a news source, this decision was taken by the ETPB at a meeting at Zaman Park on January 12 attended by ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq, LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema, Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed, and Chief Metropolitan Planner Waheed Butt.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, 7% of the land might be used for high-rise buildings by the ETPB. The board will also transfer 26 kanals to the Bhikki Power Plant, for which the government will provide substitute land. The government has also agreed to pay market rates for land acquired from the ETPB for the Orange Line Metro project.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the ETPB and LDA have planned to jointly develop Nankana Sahib, the site of Baba Gurunanak\u2019s temple.
