Lahore: The ongoing repair work on the Habibabad overpass will be finished within two weeks, a Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) official told reporters on February 9.<\/p>\n
The overpass, located on GT Road near Pattoki, was constructed by Habibabad Operations and Management Engineering Company (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of the FWO, on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. This made the company responsible for the maintenance of the structure for 10 years without being entitled to any payments from the National Highway Authority.<\/p>\n
According to the official, the main structure of the overpass was not damaged, but the road leading to it and the ramps were in a dilapidated condition due to water seepage and needed renovation.
