Islamabad: The Estate Office\u2019s enforcement wing successfully got illegal occupants to vacate 172 government accommodations in the federal capital.<\/p>\n
According to a news source, the matter was taken up when the National Assembly\u2019s standing committee on housing and works expressed concerns over the illegal occupation of the government houses on March 3. As a result, directives were given to the officials concerned to take immediate and stern action against these residents.<\/p>\n
Some of the illegal occupants were retired government employees. Strangely, the Estate Office has not received any formal complaints regarding encroachment in mentioned houses by their respective allottees, reported the news source.<\/p>\n
The office is now engaged in the allotment\/cancellation of government accommodations according to a defined policy.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, complaints that are registered or brought to the attention of the Estate Office will be referred to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD).
