To levy tax for the next five years, new general property tax survey will begin today. The general survey is said to be continued till 31st December, 2013. <\/p>\n
Excise Department teams will go door to door to complete this survey that has begun after 11 years. After completing the survey, the Excise Department will notify citizens through Challan Forms to collect imposed tax according to new rates. <\/p>\n
As per sources, the survey will be conducted widely throughout the posh areas of Lahore, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi and includes all 5 marla houses of \u2018A\u2019 category along with above 2 kanal luxury bungalows. <\/p>\n
Only in provincial capital of Punjab, around 4 hundred thousand people fall under the tax system; who have been paying property tax according to survey conducted in 2002. However, in new survey 5 marla houses located in posh areas and luxury homes will also be included in tax net. The survey is being conducted to collect information about property such as the area of property. <\/p>\n
