Lahore: Industry workers, owners and farmers staged a protest on June 6 at Kahna on Ferozepur Road against the ongoing acquisition of land for LDA City.<\/p>\n
According to a news source, protesters marched towards the Gajju Matta stop of the Metro Bus project and demanded the government to stop the land acquisition process. They also burnt tires and staged a sit-in from 12pm to 6pm.<\/p>\n
Reportedly, the demonstrators warned that they would not let the government continue with the project and if the authorities concerned did not comply, the protest would continue.<\/p>\n
LDA City, the Lahore Development Authority\u2019s new mega housing project, is allegedly disturbing industries in the area, causing thousands of workers to become unemployed, and also consuming agricultural land.<\/p>\n
