Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have delayed the completion of PKR 1.7 billion Koral Interchange project because of their inability to settle the matter of a particular portion of land.<\/p>\n
According to a news source, Koral Interchange is a part of the signal-free Islamabad Expressway. The delay in its completion is being caused because an 8-kanal land, to be used for the project, belongs to the CAA and the CDA must build a connecting loop on the land to direct traffic from the airport to the highway. Main portion of the interchange cannot be constructed unless the CDA directs traffic to the alternate route.<\/p>\n
Allegedly, the CAA is reluctant to hand over the land in question to the CDA, although the CDA is willing to pay compensation for it. However, a CAA official told reporters that these allegations are false and the authority is ready to give land to the CDA after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed.<\/p>\n
