The recently constructed Chandni Chowk Flyover has failed to keep the traffic flowing on Benazir Road so the Punjab Government has announced Sixth Road flyover project in hopes to keep traffic moving and to ease out the flow on the busy road. <\/p>\n

Sixth Road Flyover is a Rs 820 million project and will be a 248 metre long bridge with 202 metre ramp. It is expected to be completed within 90 days after its initiation. Engineers believe that it will not only solve traffic issues but also add beauty to the city. <\/p>\n

Camp office has been set up at the roadside and machinery has also been mobilised. National Logistic Cell (NLC) would build the project that has already constructed Chandni Chowk Flyover. NLC is known as a reputed company for timely completion of projects. <\/p>\n

Construction of the Sixth Road flyover was initiated on the strong demand of PML (N) as traffic congestion was severe and people had to wait for long at the signals. Traffic Management on Benazir Road has become a daunting task and for that a flyover and an underpass were added but no improvement in the situation is observed.<\/p>\n

The provincial government has also directed the authorities to construct two underpasses on Marirh Hassan Chowk. The project is expected to cost Rs 438 million and currently authorities are giving payments to different departments to shift their offices from there.
\nAccording to officials, after construction of flyover and tunnel project, the traffic congestion problem on Benazir Road will come to an end. The construction work on 6th Road Flyover will not affect traffic flow as the project will be completed in two phases to keep one road open for traffic.
