\nISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday sought amended design of plots in Sector I-8 from Capital Development Authority\u2019s (CDA) Land Planning Wing director general within two-day. A three-judges bench, comprising Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, was hearing the matter of modeling and remodeling design of Sector G-13.\n<\/p>\n
\nDuring the hearing, Justice Jan asked the CDA DG Ghulam Sarwar Sandhu that he should compile the relevant documents over Sector I-8 in first phase and submit it with the bench, after which they would have to provide sector wise details. He observed that the court wanted to see whether the modeling and remodeling had disturbed drainage and sanitation system in these sectors. He referred to media reports about certain aspect in various sectors in G-10, G-11, G-13, and F-6 etc.\n<\/p>\n
\nJustice Khawaja observed that if natural flow of drainage was blocked it would have its impacts on city. The bench also asked Hafiz S A Rehman, counsel for Federal Government Housing Foundation, to also prepare the report, as they would also require his assistance. Further hearing was adjourned till October 6.\n<\/p>\n
\nAccording to media reports, the creation of plots adjacent to natural paths of nullahs could cause flash flooding in the city. The Planning Division had also advised the CDA not to allow new plots near nullahs because flash floods might damage houses, besides construction activities would disrupt natural flow of drains. The reports further said that CDA\u2019s move was a violation of master plan under which residential and commercial plots had been clearly defined.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
