Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated work on introducing new zoning regulations for Zone III, according to a news source. There will be separate rules for acquired and non-acquired land in this zone. The orders for devising proper rules for the different zones in Islamabad were issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The civic authority prepared the zoning rules for Zone IV back in 2007 on the orders of the apex court. According to the rules, the construction of farmhouses and other units in this zone was only allowed after CDA\u2019s approval.<\/p>\n
After the Supreme Court\u2019s orders, work on devising new zoning regulations for Zone III has formally begun. In this regard, a meeting was held between the Capital Administration and Development Division representatives and the CDA, during which a briefing was given by the Survey of Pakistan Director Waqar Zakariya. According to Zakariya, CDA currently has the same set of regulations for both acquired and non-acquired land, which is against the law. He suggested separate rules to be devised for acquired and non-acquired land. This will also assist in smooth operations of the CDA\u2019s Building Control Section and Enforcement Department.<\/p>\n
