The federal government has instructed China Airport Construction Group Corporation (CACGC) \u2013 the company engaged for the project &#8211; to complete site investigation by February 2018 and the project design by April of the same year.<\/p>\n<p>According to initial estimates, the project is likely to cost USD 260 million and it will be completed in three years. The airport will eventually facilitate one million travellers.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, the CACGC is carrying out soil testing on the site, after which, work will begin on the airport\u2019s design. The final cost estimates for the project will be made once airport design gets finalised in April.
