Kohat: The union councils of the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunwa have demanded the release of blocked funds of the current fiscal year and related powers under the local bodies law, reported to a news report.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, representing the union councils Zahoor Ahmed Paracha said that after the initial two years, payment of funds to them were stopped. He also added that salaries and rents had not been paid in three months. Paracha stated that people in their constituencies wanted uplift work done in the area, but funds were needed to achieve this work.
