Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the establishment of Thar Foundation as a means of developing the social sector in the area, according to a news report. This decision was announced during a review of Thar coal projects, attended by Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon and various other dignitaries.<\/p>\n

Shah highlighted how over the years Thar has emerged as the most impoverished areas of Pakistan, and now requires various socio-economic reforms. He highlighted the importance of Thar Block-II as the best option for future baseload power plants. The price of Thar coal has increased by 3.58%, while prices for imported fuels have gone up by 65%, thus making Thar coal an ideal source of energy.
