Karachi: The World Bank is set to approve a USD 100 million loan for solar energy in Sindh under its \u201cSindh Solar Energy Program\u201d (SSEP), according to a news report. SSEP is focused around the deployment of solar energy throughout the province by overarching reforms.<\/p>\n
Under the scheme, a 400-megawatt solar park will be established and be auctioned through first tariff-based competitive auctions across the country. The project will begin with a 50 MW section which will be located near Manjhand, Jamshoro. The land has been acquired for that. The project is expected to be functional by 2020.<\/p>\n
