Mansehra: The people living in shelters in Balakot\u2019s red-zone have expressed optimism that they could finally get plots in the New Balakot City housing project, according to a news report. The new-found optimism comes after the Supreme Court Chief Justice (CJ) Saqib Nisar took suo moto notice of the issue.<\/p>\n
According to details, the CJ took suo moto notice of embezzlement in USD 5 billion financial assistance from the international community for rehabilitation of 2005 earthquake survivors. These details were shared by the councillor Mohammad Safdar Awan in a meeting held in Balakot.<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by survivors settled in the red-zone since the 2005 earthquake that hit Balakot severely. The meeting unanimously adopted a resolution demanding CJ to ensure allotment of plots to them in the New Balakot City housing project without any further delay.<\/p>\n
