Islamabad: The tax amnesty scheme announced by the government on April 5 hasn\u2019t yet been availed by anyone as people are still unsure on what will be the Supreme Court (SC)\u2019s verdict on it, according to a news source. The apex court earlier indicated that it will review the money whitening scheme, suggesting that the amnesty scheme may come under scrutiny.<\/p>\n
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan said that those looking to avail the scheme are anxiously waiting for the SC\u2019s verdict on tracing and bringing back money to bank accounts and immovable overseas assets owned by Pakistanis.<\/p>\n
Khan is hopeful that as soon as SC approves the scheme, an immediate and massive response will be seen among those looking to avail it. He also claimed that the amnesty scheme is the replica of what a committee of SC recommended earlier.
