Karachi: The Government of Sindh has approved the establishment of a 50 megawatt power station for the K-IV Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme, reported a news source. The project was approved during the 25th meeting of the provincial government\u2019s Public Private Partnership Policy Board held on Monday.<\/p>\n
This meeting was chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, where different schemes including the Livestock Tagging project, the local government\u2019s Karachi Theme Park, the English-medium schools project, Khairpur wholesale dates market, and safety and security services at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) came under discussion.<\/p>\n
Shah said that the K-IV project\u2019s first phase is aimed at bringing 260 million gallons a day of water to Karachi and requires 50 MW of power to meet its energy needs to pump this water.
