Karachi: Industrialists representing the Chengdu Chamber of Commerce for Commercial Services (CCCCS), China, have shown interest in setting up an industrial incubator in Pakistan with a focus on technology transfer, reported a news source. To promote trade between the two countries, the CCCCS is also interested in setting up a \u201cPakistan Commodity Centre\u201d in Chengdu.<\/p>\n
To explore opportunities to establish an industrial zone in Lahore, Karachi, or Gwadar, a nine-member delegation of the CCCCS visited Pakistan recently. According to the CCCCS\u2019s strategic partner Professor Song Zhihui, the delegation held successful meetings with all concerned stakeholders including Sindh Board of Investment, Karachi Chamber of Commerce, furniture manufacturers and other government functionaries. The delegation also visited Bin Qasim Industrial Park during their visit.<\/p>\n
The Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment Naheed Memon called the meeting very successful as both sides identified areas which could be worked on. CCCCS Chairman Li Tiansu has said that the trade body is considering establishing a Pakistan Commodity Centre in Chengdu, where local products from Pakistan would be displayed to facilitate trade. With improvements in road-rail networks between the two countries, China Logistics Corporation is looking for ways to facilitate transportation of goods to and from Sichuan.<\/p>\n
