Lahore: With the completion of many areas of the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) underground stations completed, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has floated tenders worth PKR 38 million for the rebuilding of demolished portions of the GPO, Saint Andrews Church, and other allied buildings, according to a news report.<\/p>\n
Official tender documents reveal that LDA has invited bids from engineering firms for the shifting, reconstruction, and development of the boundary wall and courtyard area of the historical GPO. Estimates suggest that this would cost PKR 10.83 million and would be completed within a month\u2019s time. Similarly, work on Saint Andrews Church is expected to cost PKR 9.98 million, and work on the Aiwan-e-Auqaf parking area will cost PKR 2.5 million. Work on the Account General Office and parking area on Edward Road would cost PKR 6.68 million, and work on the Lahore Customs House is expected to cost PKR 4.98 million.
