Karachi: Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar has directed all technical departments of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to not accept any requests of utility service providers for digging roads, according to a news report. The Mayor has also said that no such requests can be entertained unless these are handed over to the KMC by the Local Government Department.<\/p>\n

The Technical Services Senior Director has taken notice of this and notified all zonal chief engineers, the chief engineer, and superintendent engineer. Akhtar has also added that roads are an integral part of the city\u2019s infrastructure and no one can be allowed to cut roads or footpaths without having prior permission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
