Lahore: Experts have called for the protection of Punjab\u2019s agro-economy in the laying down of the TAPI pipeline, according to a news source. This demand was made at a provincial scoping workshop held on Thursday for the evaluation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of the 825-kilometre Pakistan section of the pipeline.<\/p>\n

This pipeline will pass through 17 districts of Pakistan, 9 in Punjab, and the rest in Balochistan. This workshop was organised by the Environmental Management Consultants (EMC) Pakistan and was attended by various consultants and companies involved in the mega-project. The provincial Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Director General pledged full cooperation on behalf of the Punjab Government at this workshop.
