Islamabad: The Federal Government of Pakistan has started a project to start fish farming in lakes of Skardu, reported a news source. The Fisheries Development Board, which operates under the Ministry of National Food Security & Research, is looking to arrange for source of income of the residents of the region by setting up Trout farms.<\/p>\n

The project is estimated to cost PKR 50.71 million, out of which the government has already released funds worth 10.81 million.<\/p>\n

Under this project, 15 cages will be installed in each lake of Skardu for farming, which will produce 25 tons of fish each year, bringing about an annual revenue of PKR 1 million. The government has already installed 15 cages with baby trout in them at Jarbaso Lake, which is also known as the Blink lake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
