Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court (LHC)\u2019s Rawalpindi bench has instructed Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Planning and Development Punjab to share their long-term and short-term plans on supplying water to the city\u2019s residents, along with answers to the 14 points raised by the petitioner, according to a news source. The court also expressed dissatisfaction over the trend of preparing project concepts while doing nothing practical to address the real issues.<\/p>\n
Hearing the case, Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi inquired about construction stats of of Chahan and Dadocha Dams, which are meant to supply water to the twin cities. The court was told that development work on Chahan Dam has been completed.<\/p>\n
Justice Lodhi also expressed concerns over WASA leaving out certain areas from its priority list for water supply. Adjourning the case, the court ordered WASA to share a comprehensive report in writing on how the agency plans to supply water to 1.5 million people living in Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
