Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has declared 450 buildings in Sindh and many parts of the provincial capital as dilapidated, a news source reported. The authority has also prepared and shared the list having details of these building, the owners of which have also been informed about the possible dangers of keeping them occupied.<\/p>\n
The SBCA also invites the public to share details of the dilapidated buildings in their neighbourhoods, which are prone to collapsing. The details can be shared via a telephone call on +92-21-9923-2354 or in writing to the SBCA.<\/p>\n
According to the news reported, the SBCA team, comprising expert architects and experienced engineers, has declared many buildings and floors of several plazas too dangerous to be used. The survey results also show that the identified buildings have problems with their structures and are hence prone to experiencing unfortunate situations.<\/p>\n
In Karachi, the areas home to these buildings are Saddar, Jamshed Town, Kemari, Lyari, Malir Town, Shah Faisal Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Korangi Town, Baldia Town, Gulberg Town, North Nazimabad Town, Liaqat Abad Town and Site Town.
