The event was attended by foreign dignitaries, bankers, economics, and politicians.<\/p>\n<p>The SBP governor Tariq Bajwa said that by the year 2030, the SBP should be a tech-based organisation, and that the central bank and banking sector should be willing and able to absorb new technology within this time. A number of prominent themes were discussed at the event.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Caretaker Finance Minister and who led the bank from 2005-2009 talked about the importance of green banking. Yaseen Anwar, governor from 2011-2014, also spoke at the event.
