Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has cleared the Mall Road sinkhole which appeared during the record-breaking downpour the city received on Tuesday, according to a news report. The LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan told sources that a cavity measuring 15mx6m appeared on the road because of a number of open ducts located in a chamber near the General Post Office (GPO) became a carrier of water seepage under the road.<\/p>\n
The LDA officials have said that a record 252 mm rain fell in Lahore on Tuesday but immediate damage control measures were taken to cover the embankment with cement.
