Islamabad: Development work on Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway has been put on hold in the absence of clearing the pending dues, stated a news source. The contractor has subjected the resumption of development work with clearing pending bills of PKR 14 billion. The move is dreaded to cause delays in the project.<\/p>\n
Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway is being constructed under a private-public partnership. Stretching to 230 kilometres, the project\u2019s estimated construction cost is PKR 148 billion. So far, the project has been completed by over 65%, where its Sharqpur to Rajana section was inaugurated in May 2018. Currently, the contractor is busy shaping up the remaining 66 kilometres of the road for which the funds haven\u2019t been issued.<\/p>\n
