Karachi: Overseas Pakistani workers remitted USD 1.93 billion during the first month of Fiscal Year 2018-2019, as per a news report. For the same month last year, remittances amounted to USD 1.54 billion. Remittance received during the FY 2017-18<\/a> amounted to PKR 19.35 billion.<\/p>\n

In a report published by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)\u00a0it was revealed that during July 2018, these inflows were up by 21.03% more than during the same period last year. Inflows from countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, Gulf and EU countries amount to USD 1.7 billion.<\/p>\n

Remittances from Malaysia, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and various other countries stand at USD 236.8 million. These are higher compared with USD 1.6 billion and USD 161.22 million, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
