Karachi: The Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the Chief Secretary to write a letter to the Council of Common Interests (CCI), asking it to include all pending issues of Sindh for the council\u2019s next meeting, according to a news report.<\/p>\n
This statement came while Shah presided over a preparatory meeting for the upcoming CCI session.\u00a0 Shah said that various issues pertaining to Sindh province are pending discussion in the CCI; including amendment in the Petroleum Exploration and Production Policy 2012, allocation of 1,200 cusecs additional water for Karachi city (K-IV) project, import of LNG gas, and a host of other problems.<\/p>\n
Shah directed the secretariat that these issues are important and require urgent attention to be resolved. He especially pointed out that Karachi is facing an acute water shortage and that current domestic consumption which stands at 12.75 gallons per capital\/day is further anticipated to increase in the next coming years.<\/p>\n
Shah said that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board had calculated that an additional demand of 1,200 cusecs to 2,400 cusecs of water in the city is needed.
