Lahore: A 15-member committee has been formed by Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to review the city\u2019s existing master plan, reported a news source. The committee will also identify the shortcomings of the plan and put forth recommendations for the formation of Lahore\u2019s new master plan.<\/p>\n
The committee members include LDA chief town planner, chief engineer and representatives from Water and Sanitation Authority, Lahore Waste Management Company, Environment Protection Agency, Traffic Engineering & Planning Agency director, Punjab Safe City Authority managing director, Metropolitan Planning director and Lahore chief traffic officer.<\/p>\n
In a meeting held a few days, LDA said that Lahore\u2019s master plan needs upgradation in the backdrop of the city experiencing expansion due to population rise. The new plan will help all related agencies cope with the future challenges.<\/p>\n
The master plan currently follow was approved in 2004 and it was designed to stand valid till 2021. Due to the expansion of LDA\u2019s jurisdiction to Lahore Division in 2013, its scope is now extended to all four districts.<\/p>\n
LDA sources have confirmed that for preparation of the new master plan, recommendations and proposals from all stakeholders will be welcomed.
