Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)\u2019s Building Control Section has completed its survey in eight farmhouse projects in the city as per orders issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, reported a news source. The survey findings revealed that out of 478 farm houses inspected, 117 of have a covered area more than 9,500 square feet, while 58 of these stretch to a covered area of over 12,500 square feet.<\/p>\n
The covered area exceeding the limit of 12,500 square feet will be demolished, as per the SC\u2019s instructions, while the owners of those farmhouses having covered area higher than 9,500 square feet will be penalised. The civic authority is expected to get PKR 1.84 billion in terms of fines imposed on these farmhouses, which after paying the penalty, will become regularised.<\/p>\n
As per CDA laws for agro farms, the covered area limit is 9,500 square feet and the SC had allowed regularisation of units having covered area not more than 12,500 to be regularised after payment of fine. But the rule applies only on the units where construction work on extra land has been carried out.
