Rawalpindi: To deal with increasing water shortfall in the city, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has decided to recycle 40,000 gallons of sewerage water and use it for land irrigation, reported a news source. The recycled water will also be used for watering greenbelts, parks, and at construction sites.<\/p>\n

The project will make 12,000 gallons of potable water available, which is otherwise being used for watering greenbelts and parks in the city. The draft for a notice inviting expression of interest for installation of water recycling plant has been submitted for approval in the regional director office.<\/p>\n

While heading a meeting to share details on the plan, RCB President Shahzad Tanveer said that 80% of the sewerage water can be recycled and used for meeting irrigated related needs.
