Lahore: Two projects by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), have been included in a World Bank report among the top 15 projects for public sector performance, according to news sources. This was revealed by PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif.<\/p>\n
He made this announcement while discussing the World Bank report, which is called \u2018Improving Public Sector Performance through Innovation and Inter-Agency Coordination\u2019. He also mentioned that applications developed by PITB have been replicated and are being used in eight countries. Albania, Romania, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Mozambique, Rwanda, Congo, and Ethiopia are using these apps. This has been lauded as a matter of great honour for Pakistan. The projects appreciated are the citizen feedback monitoring programme and the e-Vaccs smartphone application.<\/p>\n
The monitoring programme has been used by 20.5 million people since 2011 to give feedback, suggestions, and complaints regarding 70,000 officials. With the help of inexpensive smartphones, the performance of officials in various sectors has been gauged.<\/p>\n
