Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to launch an operation for the retrieval of 50 kanals of its land from 17 illegal occupants across the city, a news source reported. The land is worth billions of rupees and will be used to generate money for the civic agency.<\/p>\n
Notices have been issued to the illegal occupants, directing them to vacate the land within seven days. RDA\u2019s property is located around the city, situated on the main roads, and will be used for commercial purposes.<\/p>\n
The land RDA is looking to retrieve is situated on Saidpur Road, Civil Lines, Raja Bazaar, Asghar Mall Scheme, National Market, Sherpao Colony and Murree Road. The police\u2019s help has also been requested for the retrieval of the land.<\/p>\n
RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi, speaking on the matter, stated that a list of RDA\u2019s occupied property has been prepared for the enforcement cell to take action. Abbasi expressed determination to take back the land and said that if the occupants do not vacate the land or the building, it will either be demolished or auctioned off.
