Islamabad: Federal Ministry for Housing & Works has announced that 3-marla and 5-marla affordable houses will be constructed under Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), according to a news source. For those living in katchi abadis, <\/em>the model of having two rooms, a kitchen, and a small corridor will be followed.<\/p>\n

The ministry is currently finalising the rules and regulations regarding private-public partnership for NPHP, where the Government of Pakistan will act as a regulator and the private sector will play the main role in terms of construction.<\/p>\n

The sources from Ministry of Housing & Works briefed the media that on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a task force comprising stakeholders has been formed. Its members include representatives from State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Housing Foundation, Ministry of Housing & Works, and commercial banks.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the task force is swiftly proceeding with related works to initiate the project. Currently, its main focus is on completing the land acquisition process and finalising details on formation of a financial model and the project\u2019s legal framework. In this regard, paperwork has been completed.<\/p>\n
