Lahore: Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has made a 132-KV grid station for Phase VI and VII functional, reported a news source. The grid stations were formally inaugurated by DHA Administrator Brig Sajid Khokhar, who was accompanied by Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) CEO Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha and other important officials from the DHA and real estate agents registered with the society.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Brig Khokhar said that in order to fix load management in DHA Phase VI and VII, the two were temporarily connected with the Bedian Grid Station, and with the new grid station made operational, load management, and load-shedding issues in these phases will be fixed.<\/p>\n
Sharing details on the project, he said that the grid station spans 32 kanals of land and its cost is PKR 350 million. The station was energised in three years with the financial and technical assistance of LESCO, which will also manage its maintenance and operations.<\/p>\n
This particular grid station is among the 21 such stations proposed to meet energy requirements of the DHA as the society has expanded from 34,000 kanals to 300,000 kanals.
