Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to set up a technical committee in order to address issues facing the railways sectors of the two countries, reported a news source. This was decided during a meeting between Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Iranian Ambassador in Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost.<\/p>\n
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Railways yesterday, was also attended by Secretary Railways Board Farrukh Taimur Ghilzai, Director General Planning M Yusuf, and Director General Technical Syed Munawar Shah.<\/p>\n
The two officials stressed the need for upgradation of the Quetta-Taftan section between Pakistan and Iran. They agreed that such a move would further cement the brotherly ties between the two countries. Sheikh Rasheed on his part said the rail link was crucial to the development of relations between Pakistan and Iran.<\/p>\n
The Quetta\u2013Taftan railway line is one of the major rail links in Pakistan.
