Karachi: The demolition squad of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) took action against commercial buildings on Khalid Bin Waleed Road and other areas to seal and demolish a number of shops, restaurants and showrooms, a news source reported. The operation was conducted on the instructions of SBCA Director General Iftikhar Ali Qaimkhani and on the orders of Supreme Court-mandated Water Commission.<\/p>\n
On Khalid Bin Waleed Road the action was taken against residential plots that were being used for commercial purposes. The shops, restaurants and showrooms established on 23 plots were sealed.<\/p>\n
The Assistant Commissioner (East) and SBCA Jamshed Town officials were present in the operation.<\/p>\n
Buildings were also demolished in Lyari Town, Gulberg Town, and Federal B Area. Other buildings were also sealed in Lyari Town.
