Karachi: Bahria Town has agreed to remove rubble amounting to 100,000 tons from Empress Market after the crackdown launched against encroachers in the area, reported a news source. The developer was requested to help clear the area, to which it agreed to offer its services free of cost.<\/p>\n
Under the supervision of Bahria Town Chief Operating Admiral (R) Ahmed Hayat, a 13-member team has started to remove the rubble. For this purpose, Bahria Town has engaged 26 of its heavy machinery, which includes excavators, dumper trucks, loaders, and jackhammers. The rubble will be shifted to Karachi Metropolitan Coporation (KMC)\u2019s dumping station in Mewa Shah. So far, 50% of the rubble has been removed from the site.<\/p>\n
According to sources from Bahria Town, the market will be cleared in three days. In addition to removing rubble, Bahria Town has also volunteered to clear the court area within the market.<\/p>\n
