Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to install water meters to regulate water loss at car service stations across the province, a news source quoted KP Environment Minister Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq. He said Pakistan faces a major challenge in the form of water scarcity.<\/p>\n
Ishtiaq said the provincial government has directed owners concerned to install water meters at their respective car service stations on immediate basis, adding that violators will be dealt with accordingly.<\/p>\n
He said excessive use and misuse of water not only reduces groundwater table but also results in water pollution as the drains and sewers get filled with chemically contaminated water.<\/p>\n
The minister also stressed the need for collaborative efforts to tackle the water crisis in the country, inviting stakeholders for suggestions on effective water management.<\/p>\n
