Rawalpindi: Pakistan and China have agreed to hold a detailed interaction of officials concerned to come up with innovative strategies for the railways sectors of the two countries, a news source reported. A two-day session would be held in this regard and the final recommendations will be released on December 25.<\/p>\n
This was agreed during a meeting between Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and National Railway Administration (NRA) Deputy Administrator An Lusheng. The two sides agreed that the railway sector is the backbone of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).<\/p>\n
Rasheed said that ML-1 (Karachi \u2013 Peshawar mainline) should be completed swiftly, and the government would then focus on ML-2 (Kotri-Attock mainline). He asserted that the upgradation of ML-1 is the lifeline of CPEC, adding that there will be no further modifications in the framework agreement between NRA and PR.<\/p>\n
