Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government hopes to generate PKR 10 billion in tax revenue during the current fiscal year, a news source reported. An independent revenue authority (KPRA), established by the government has already enhanced tax collection to PKR 7.26 billion.<\/p>\n

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA), which primarily deals with the administration of sales and services tax as per constitutional provisions, has already established centres to facilitate tax filers<\/a> in Abbottabad and Dera Ismail Khan.<\/p>\n

KPRA Director General Muhammad Tahir Orakzai said the facilitation centres aim to broaden the tax net and are a part of KPRA\u2019s revenue strategy of reforms with special focus on taxpayer facilitation.<\/p>\n

A senior official of Excise, Taxation Department and Narcotics Control Department said the government plans to establish more tax facilitation centres and excise offices in six key districts of the province.<\/p>\n
