Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced plans for digital transformation of the province and approved a digital policy in this regard, a news source reported. As many as five cities or municipalities will be turned into smart cities in the next five years.<\/p>\n
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Kamran Khan Bangash said the local government minister recently launched a smart cities wing at his department, adding that the government was planning to hold a smart cities conference next year.<\/p>\n
He said every government department would be digitised in the next five years and that all offices would become paperless. He added that the provincial IT Board had shifted its operation to e-office and asked the government to shift four other departments on the same module.<\/p>\n
