He was chairing a meeting that was also attended by Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar, the commissioner, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information Murtaza Wahab, and others.<\/p>\n<p>It was brought to the attention of the minister that the total number of KMC tenants displaced during the ongoing anti-encroachment drive stood at 3,575. A summary in this regard had already been prepared that would be forwarded to the chief minister.<\/p>\n<p>KMC had sought a special grant from the provincial government so that it could remove debris of the demolished shops, reconstruct footpaths, and carry out patchwork and beautification of the metropolis.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the minister said a committee headed by adviser Waqar Mehdi and comprising metropolitan commissioner and deputy commissioner South would scrutinise the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/kmc-allocating-alternative-shops-to-1470-displaced-traders.html\">KMC record<\/a> and submit its recommendations within three days.<\/p>\n<p>He said the city administration would accommodate 3,500 KMC tenants in temporary structures in the first phase.
