The court was hearing a petition seeking payment from housing societies over public use of water.<\/p>\n<p>During the course of proceedings, the court remarked that housing societies charge their residents for public use of water but now they had to pay for the bills themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) had already announced its decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/rda-to-charge-private-schemes-for-extracting-water.html\">charge private housing societies for pumping water through tubewells<\/a>.
