The petition maintains that the drive in residential areas may cause problems for the government.<\/p>\n<p>Sources privy to the development said that the ongoing drive in the metropolis would take approximately one year to complete as Karachi had innumerable encroachments and other illegal structures.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities planning operations in residential areas would have to get an approval from the provincial government in the form of a No Objection Certificate (NOC).<\/p>\n<p>The ongoing campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/kda-drive-against-encroachment-underway.html\">initiated by the metropolitan and development <\/a>departments, is limited to the areas within the jurisdiction of the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Karachi Development Authority (KDA).<\/p>\n<p>The whole operation will be completed in two phases.
