Islamabad: The Exploration and Production (E&P) companies have made 13 oil and gas discoveries since August 2018, a news source reported. According to initial assessments, the overall rate of gas flow in new discoveries is 105.18 Million Cubic Feet per Day (MMCFD) and 5,358 barrels of oil per day, this included the discovery Mari Petroleum Company Limited had announced of significant deposits of crude oil<\/a> in the exploratory well located in Kachhi (Bolan) district of Balochistan. The present government has been making concerted efforts to increase oil and gas exploration activities to attain self-sufficiency in energy.<\/p>\n

Export-oriented industries will be provided with subsidised gas, and the fertiliser industry will also get a subsidy to keep the prices of the latter low for common farmers.<\/p>\n

According to a representative of the Petroleum and Natural Resources Division of the Energy Ministry, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder has dropped from PKR 1,600 to PKR 1,400 in the open market for domestic consumers.
