Islamabad: Following the directions of the Ministry of Interior, two buildings have been selected by the capital territory administration for the purposes of shelter homes in Islamabad, a news source reported.<\/p>\n

The two buildings have been selected in Tarlai and Sector I-11 respectively. The one is Tarlai can house almost 150 males and 50 females, while the Sector I-11 building can house an estimated 100 males.<\/p>\n

It has been decided to vacate the Tarlai building, which is currently being used for storing goods belonging to sitting and former officers of the local administration. An official of the capital administration stated that the building featured two halls, a dining hall, and five rooms on the first floor. An additional wing in the building is feasible for housing women. Separate rooms for the staff could be arranged as well. This particular shelter homes will be useful for the poor traveling to Tarlai in search of jobs.<\/p>\n

The other building in Sector I-11, also known as Sabzi Mandi, will be housing labourers in the area who are homeless. Both buildings are expected to be inaugurated before the end of 2018. The building renovations are being supervised by Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. The buildings will also be equipped with security cameras, along with the arrangement of guards.<\/p>\n

The official further added that such shelter homes can\u2019t be managed by the government, so they will be handed over to philanthropists<\/a>. They will be responsible for running and financing the shelter homes, while the capital administration will remain as a facilitator.<\/p>\n

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi paid a visit to the Tarlai building. He revealed that the shelter home will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
